Course Overview
In this unit, students begin with the simplest hydrocarbons, their structures, nomenclature and uses, and how these “tie in” to the basic concepts of organic chemistry. Next is the study of aromatic compounds i.e. benzene and its derivatives, and the many different areas of daily life in which these molecules play an important role.
