Description

Robotics Competition Projects provide a unique opportunity to introduce robotics into the classroom. Each project is designed to stimulate student learning and engages participants to solve a variety of science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) problems. Projects are designed for various levels of experience and include everything you need in one package. Components typically include scoring goals, scoring components, fasteners, rules, field construction plans, and scoring software.
Robotics Competition Projects were created to capture the feeling of large robotic competitions adapted to be more suitable for a classroom setting. Everything you need is in the box, leaving you with a ready-to-use teaching tool for science, math, and engineering principles.

Each project is designed to allow for numerous creative solutions, each having its own set of challenges. These challenges are suitable for all levels of robotic experience. Whether used as part of a classroom curriculum, as a robotics club challenge, or as a tournament for several competing teams, robotics projects are proven means to stimulate students’ interest in the exciting world of robotics.

The Competition 1 package includes 3 projects:

Puck Pile Up™
Puck Pile Up™ will have players piling up the points. Puck Pile Up challenges competitors to collect hockey pucks from holding racks on the field and stack them on a raised scoring platform. The taller the stack, the more points are earned. It may sound simple, but the size, shape, and mass of the pucks create design dilemmas. Additionally, the presence of eight power pucks makes a scoring strategy necessary for victory. Along with the project components, Puck Pile Up comes with a CD full of everything you will need to run a full-scale, robotics competition of your very own.

Cone Zone™
Cone Zone™ is a entry-level robotics project that is action-packed and full of excitement. The unique scoring device, the Conic, provides a challenge that, on the surface, appears simple, but presents many design obstacles. The scoring components, a regulation set of pool balls, provide many different scoring possibilities and thought-provoking design problems due to their size, weight, texture and inertial qualities.

Safe Cracker™
Safe Cracker™ is a fully autonomous robotic game that will put participants’ programming and math skills to the test. Competitors design, build, and program robots to solve a series of combination locks. Successful solutions incorporate fractions, proportions, and trigonometry in the programming. Once competitors solve the challenge at its basic level, project extensions enable the application of expanded programming skills.
