Course Overview
The Atomic Structure course begins with a brief survey of the earliest concepts of the atom and then proceeds to the discovery of the electron, proton and neutron. From there we discuss nuclear structure, including atomic number, atomic weight and isotopes. Electron configuration is next, leading to the study of valence electrons and the chemical bonds that form as a result. The final lesson deals with hydrogen bonding and behavior trends across the periodic table.
